The purpose of Maribyrnong and Moonee Valley Local Learning and Employment Network (MMVLLEN) is to create an environment where all young people in Maribyrnong and Moonee Valley can develop the knowledge, skills, and experience they need to succeed in the changing world of work.
We work with young people, schools, training organisations and employers to create places and processes that engage young people in learning and skill development, and to position them for a successful transition through school and into further education and training and employment.
MMVLLEN is not-for-profit (NFP) organisation and a registered charity. We are one of 31 LLENs across Victoria. We were set up in 2001 as place-based organisations with the role of improving education, training and employment options for young Victorians. The LLENs have a particular focus on those young people who are less likely to successfully transition from
compulsory schooling to the next stage of their lives and careers.
Our key objectives are to:
- Promote a positive and strengths-based narrative of young people across our community
- Identify and promote learning and ‘job readiness’ strategies that meet the needs of young people who are seeking to enter the workforce
- Work with schools, further education providers, and business so that what is taught to young people matches the skills and knowledge that employers are looking for
- Share current and emerging knowledge so that the community includes and supports young people in a changing world.
Young people are confident, capable and on their way to success in work and life.
