YMAP is now one of the longest-running and well-established in-school mentoring programs in the country. It stands as such as a result of strong local school, government and community partnerships built by the M&MV LLEN over the past eight years. But YMAP is also only sustainable through the thoughtful, energetic, compassionate and committed support of our marvellous volunteers. In the past three years alone over 350 wonderful volunteers have helped establish and maintain positive and productive relationships with in excess of 500 young people in our partner schools.

The FILLs model is a community partnership that delivers a whole of family approach to English literacy, learning and engagement with the Australian education system. The initiative is guided by the principal that parent engagement with, and support of, education is the single most reliable and effective indicator of successful educational outcomes, more than socio-economic and cultural indicators combined. Focussing on family connection to education, FILLS specifically seeks to coordinate literacy and homework programs, allowing whole family participation at the one time and location, thereby overcoming significant logistical and socio-economic boundaries.
