ONE FINAL WORD FROM GREG FOR 2011

Hey amazing YMAP family…PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS!!!

I know that I promised you all that last week’s newsletter would be my final for the year, but I simply could not go without sharing the following with you all.

As I’ve told many of you many times, you are not always going to know the profoundly positive effect that you can have on a young person, but sometimes I can offer you tangible evidence of your remarkable work as mentors.

As many of you are aware, we ended two programs last week and the following two letters were written – un-prompted mind you – by two of the students involved to their respective mentors.

Obviously, I have omitted names (but not grammatical errors) but please enjoy:

Thankyou so much for being the most amazing mentor/teacher/person in the world, you have been a massive inspiration to me and have made me want to do good in life.

Every Wednesday I look forward to seeing you and hearing all the new funny things you have to say. You have been the coolest person I have ever met.

I love you heaps and I really hope I will see you again. I know I will.

I just want to say THANK YOU! so much for being the most amazing mentor anyone could ask for. Your wise words and wacky personality is something I will never forget! To the time we had a massive talk about life and you gave me and

------- zoo tickets, I thank you. You’re amazing and you truly are an inspiration.

If I could I would have you in my life forever, as someone I can talk 2 catch up on just to simply say how good life is going.

Your program helped me alot. I hope I’m someone you’ll always remember!

All right YMAP mentoring community, hands up who is just tearing up a little right now?

Anyway folks, thanks again for the marvellous year and I will look forward to returning and hopefully contacting you or seeing you all in 2012.

As I’ve already told you, what a wonderful journey we had together and I pretty much didn’t do a thing…it was all you folks!

May you and yours thoroughly enjoy the festive season and always remember to measure your lives in love and laughter.
