Debra Tyler - YRC presented this information at an Annual General Meeting for the M&MV LLEN. The YRC works from the position of the “unmet needs” of the young people rather than the understanding that it is the young person who has the problem.
This paper, presented by the M & MV LLEN at the Connections that Count International Conference on Young People, Social Capital and Empowerment held at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland, looks at the role of local planning networks in developing Social Capital and empowering young people.
The M & MV LLEN and its partners in education, business and community utilised a community development process to ascertain how the M & MV LLEN could support program development for the Horn of African Community in 2003.
Resource booklet designed to meet the information needs of young people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. The booklet has been produced by the Refugee Young People and Transitions Working Group in conjunction with the Centre for Multicultural Youth Issues (CMYI). The booklet has been translated into 12 languages and is available from the CMYI website.
