VISION
To
improve the education, training and employment outcomes for
all young people, in particular young people experiencing
poor education, training and employment outcomes.
MISSION
The M & MV LLEN will foster post-compulsory education and training
to ensure that it satisfies the needs of employers and industry,
community and the diversity of young people by:
- Increasing participation and attainment in education, training
and employment by all young people, through facilitating the development
of flexible and high quality education and training opportunities
in the Maribyrnong and Moonee Valley communities
- Planning for the provision of quality education and training through
analysis of employment opportunities, alternative education programs,
community needs and opportunities, and support services for transition
procedures
- Providing advise to the Victorian Learning and Employment Skills
Commission
- Promoting, supporting and encouraging pathways planning of all
alternatives and the provision of comprehensive information and
guidance to enable well-informed life choices
- Undertaking a critique of current and future education and training
policy and programs
- Advocating with, and on behalf of, young people in the policy
debate

The LLEN will include all groups in decision-making processes
Social
Justice, Access and Equity
The LLEN has a strong commitment to ensuring equality of opportunity.
Access to learning and achievement needs to be equalised for all
groups in our community and where injustice exists, the LLEN needs
to explore affirmative action plans
Integrity
The LLEN will at all times act in a fair, honest and accountable
manner, with provision for open and responsible governance
Sustainability
The LLEN will develop services that are closely aligned to local,
state and federal government policy and that represent continued
commitment by all stakeholders to the above vision
Innovation
The LLEN will itself adhere to the principles of a learning organisation
- including regular feedback and monitoring for contribution to
a cycle of continuing review, evaluation and improvement processes
Privacy
The LLEN will at all times ensure confidentiality of all information
gathered from all organisations and individuals, including that
of young people. It shall at all times act within the Federal and
State Government's Privacy Legislation, 2001
